Javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra, who won a gold with a record throw in the Asian Games last year, has been nominated for the Rajiv Khel Ratna Award by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
The 21-year-old track and field athlete was awarded the Arjuna Award last year after he won a gold in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Chopra was also nominated for the Khel Ratna Award last year but was considered only for the Arjuna Award.
Along with Chopra, AFI has nominated five more track and field athletes for the prestigious Arjuna Awards --Arpinder Singh, Tejinder Pal Singh Toor, Dutee Chand, Swapna Barman and Manjit Singh.
