Wasim Jaffer the former Indian cricket team opener and Ranji Trophy record-holder believes that Indian captain Virat Kohli will definitely break the record of 100 centuries of former legendary cricketer in the upcoming years.
Jaffer did not play many matches for Indian team but still many young cricketers follow him and ask for his advice for their betterment. The 40-year-old has played 31 Tests and 2 ODIs for the country, where in Tests he scored 1944 runs at an average of 34 runs but in two ODIs he could only managed to score 10 runs.
However, the veteran cricketer earned so much fame in domestic cricket. Recently, he played a crucial role in the victory of Vidarbha cricket team in Ranji Trophy.
While talking to SportsFlashes Sports Radio channel, Jaffer shared his experience and said, “I have played with Virat Kohli while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 and as a batsman and as a human he changed a lot after 2011-2012, which is commendable. He is a gifted cricketer and I’m very proud of him about the way he changed himself on the field as well as off the field. The way he is guiding the team right now is really appreciable. He is the best batsman in the cricket world right now.”
He further added, “It is really difficult to compare Virat with Sachin as both are from different generation but I believe that both of them have same standard of batting. He must have learned a lot from Sachin. We are really lucky that after Gavaskar we had Sachin and now we have Virat. I remember when Virat took a lot of tips from the master blaster before going to England’s tour.”
