Ajay Jayaram, India's only hope in ongoing Chinese Taipei Open, has crashed out of the tournament owing to defeat versus Malaysia's Zii Jia Lee. Jayaram posed no threat to Lee as the match got completed without proceeding into the final set. It turned out to be a disappointing clash after Jayaram looked solid prior to this round. A 21-16, 21-9 scoreline clearly depicts Jayaram's struggles against the Malaysian shuttler.
Lee looked determined in the opening round and took a lead. He did give Jayaram a few opportunities but took the early honours eventually. Trailing behind, Jayaram lost the plot completely and surrendered in the penultimate set without even crossing double digit points.
