Arsenal have reached an agreement with Lille to sign Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe for ~€80m, paid by instalments to fit #AFC budget. 5yr deal, agent agreement still needed but set to be closed in next 24/48hrs. Napoli also have agreement with #LOSC but agent rejected proposal
Although things aren’t finalised as yet with the Ivory Coast international’s agent, the story states that it is expected to go through in the next 48 hours.
Pépé will put pen to paper on a five-year deal and become Arsenal’s record signing, overtaking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners have beaten out stiff competition for the forward’s signature, most notably from Serie A side Napoli.
His agent rejected the offer on the table from the Partenopei, with the 24-year-old set for a blockbuster move to England instead.
The deal also likely spells the end of Arsenal’s long-mooted pursuit for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
