Barcelona player Ivan Rakitichas defended his criticized team-mate Ousmane Dembele in an interview and praised his Barca boss Ernesto Valverde.
"You try to help him and all the young players. It's not easy to get to the biggest club in the world and endure the daily pressures of such an association. You still have to give it time," said the 30-year-old Croatian onDembele.
He has incredible qualities and I am sure that he will also take the step. You have to turn a blind eye to a player like that because it's worth doing with players who have a great race ahead."
Dembele joined Barcelonain 2017 from Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee of 105 million euros too. The transfer was preceded by a training session.
Rakitic also considers Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde a great worker and a man who prepares the matches in detail.
The Croatian also understands perfectly what the coach expects from him in the matches. Rakitic said, "He is very calm, a true worker, he prepares all the details piece by piece, he always wants his team to do the best they can. I trust my coach and I know what he wants and expects from me."
The Barca midfielder acknowledged that the renewal of the coach would be a great symptom for a club like Barcelona.
"We fit very well and we have a similar vision of football, personally, I am glad that he is my coach. The best step the club could take would be if I decided to renew him, he knows the team and he knows what we need."
In La Liga Ernesto Valverde's team isin second place. The gap with the leader of the ranking,Sevilla, is only one point. The Catalans have already distanced their arch-rivals Real Madrid by five points.
