Juventus have paid a price too expensive to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin, according to Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness.
Juventus had to spend €100m to recruit Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid last summer. However, according to Uli Hoeness, the price is too expensive.
"We will pay that amount (€100m) for him with his eyes closed, if he is 24 years old, but he is now 33 years old," Uli Hoeness told a German newspaper.
Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't won the Ballon d'Or this season, and is only ranked second. His former Real Madrid teammate, Luka Modric, won the prestigious award.
Ronaldo's manager at Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri, said the motivation of the Portuguese player would increase. "Unfortunately, Ronaldo really deserves to win (the Ballon d'Or) with Real," Allegri said at the Gazzetta Sports Awards.
"Modric's victory will be a motivation (for Ronaldo). He wants to do better and win the sixth Ballon d'or with Juventus next year," he added.
"CR7 is a role model for all soccer players. Even with all his success, and at the age of 33 he still focuses on every detail. He is a fun loving person and has joined the team well, and has developed our level of professionalism, which has always been part of Juventus," Allegri said.
Ronaldo and Juventus will then take action against Inter Milan on Saturday, where Allegri said he was looking forward to the match. "This will be a fantastic match," he added.
"We will see in May, if this is a match that determines the season. We hope we can win something big. The Derby d'Italia was a very difficult match. The scale of the difficulty, if from numbers one to five, is in number five, "Allegri said.
Juventus are currently eight points ahead of second place, Napoli, in the Serie A standings, after they won their first 13 league matches.
