A new era begins for Manchester United on Saturday as the Red Devils face Cardiff City for their first game following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was given his marching orders by Ed Woodward on Tuesday morning following a disastrous start to the season, and the Glazers' patience with the Portuguese coach has finally run out. There are undoubtedly more difficult games a Mourinho-less United could have faced than a trip to Cardiff, but the Bluebirds have won two of their last five games to climb out of the drop zone. The last time the two sides faces each other was back in 2014 in the Premier League: United drew 2-2 in Cardiff before winning 2-0 in Manchester. United have the edges in terms of results with 14 wins, seven losses and eight draws against the Bluebirds.
