Former Chelsea captain, John Terry, hopes the Blues can keep Eden Hazard in the future. Because, Terry believes Hazard was able to give encouragement to Chelsea to win various titles.
"Hazard loves London, he also loves Chelsea and wants to survive in this club," Terry said to Sky Sports. "He also desires to win a number of trophies. Can Hazard do it at Chelsea? Yes he can," Terry said.
Hazard was rumored to be leaving the stronghold of the Stamford Bridge Stadium, and it was loudly heard after he blatantly stated that Real Madrid is the club of his dreams at the 2018 World Cup event.
Meanwhile, Hazard has yet to sign a contract extension agreement even though it will expire in the summer of 2020.
On the other hand, Terry claims that the player has the ability to deliver Chelsea to win Champions League, winning first time in the 2011-2012 season.
The 38-year-old Terry believes the role that Hazard carry out, is quite similar to the two superstars, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, at their respective clubs.
As for Hazard, he has never won the Champions League with the Blues. "Is the Champions League a big thing for him? Then, does the club want a champion? Yes, maybe," Terry said.
"His family love London. He wants to be a Chelsea player that’s for sure. Any player wants to see security in the manager and the players you bring in.
"Can they do it? Yes, they can. Of course, if the team maintains Hazard and builds a complete squad with him. "Hazard's presence at Chelsea is similar to Messi and Ronaldo," Terry said.
Hazard has enjoyed a successful six-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge, but the Belgian playmaker has less than 18 months left on his contract and has been linked with Real Madrid.
