Chelseaare reportedly ready to pour large funds to recruitInter Milan captain Mauro Icardi. The Blues are willing to pay a release clause worth £100million to get Icardi from Inter.
The crisis in attacking line made Chelsea determined to hook Icardi with any ransom. Moreover, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is also reportedly very interested in Icardi.
Abramovich has reportedly been a admirerof Icardi for a long time. Now, he is ready to make this Inter striker become one of the Chelsea players. Head coach Maurizio Sarri also wants a new striker, with Alvaro Morata having failed to impress.
Sarri and the fans and lost faith in the 26-year-old, who arrived for £58million last summer, while deeming Olivier Giroud not good enough to regularly lead the line.
Morata, meanwhile, is exploring ways in which he can leave Chelsea this month and his agent has already held talks with Sevilla.
Sevilla are keen to sign Morata on a loan deal for the remainder of the season and are willing to pay more than half of the striker’s £150,000-a-week salary. But Chelsea’s hierarchy are reluctant to allow the Spain international to leave until a replacement is signed.
Previously, Chelsea was more closely related to rumours of the arrival of AC Milan loan striker from Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain.
Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri is also a factor in the development of this rumour. Sarri had worked with Higuain when they were both still in Naples.
Now, Chelsea actually diverted the attention to Icardi, who this season has a better goal record than Higuain.
Until the 19th week of the Italian League, Icardi had scored nine goals for Inter Milan, while Higuain has scored only scored six goals.
