Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) who are making their return in the league this season after two years of suspension has named Indian leading business group, The Muthoot Group as principal team sponsor for the 2018 season of the league.
The two-time IPL champion has signed the sponsorship deal for three years and as the part of association, the group’s logo will appear at the front of players’ jerseys.
Speaking on the announcement, The Muthoot Groups’s deputy managing director Alexander George said, “Cricket is one of the popular and most watched sports in India. With the IPL completing 10 years, it has got bigger and better with each year.
“We have always been in the forefront in sports promotion and celebrate sportsmanship as we have done with several other sports disciplines in the past like football (through Indian Super League), kabaddi (through Pro-Kabaddi League) and also partnered with IPL previously (with Delhi Daredevils for four years).
“It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with Chennai Super Kings being led by a legendary captain in M.S. Dhoni. This association will help us engage with cricket fans across the nation irrespective of which team they support.”
