Neymar will miss Brazil’s Copa America campaign due to a ligament rupture in his right ankle in a massive blow for the host nation. The 27-year-old suffered the injury during Brazil’s 2-0 friendly victory over Qatar.
A tearful Neymar, who had recently recovered from a knee injury, was carried down the tunnel. Tests later revealed that he won’t be able to recover in time for the major South American tournament. Brazil begins its Copa campaign against Bolivia on June 14.
