In another setback for two-time Olympic winner Caster Semenya, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that the player would have to take medications to suppress her testosterone in order to continue competing at the highest level.
The athlete had appealed to the court challenging the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) rule, targeting women who naturally produce high levels of testosterone.
However, the ruling has gone against the 28-year-old South African sprinter. India’s Dutee Chand, too, fought a similar battle but has managed to come out clean.
