Dabang Delhi KC halted a long run of defeats with a last-gasp win over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, spreading some cheer throughout their camp.
Jaipur Pink Panthers were down but not out even after Saturday’s big loss to Puneri Paltan. They had 50 points in Zone A going into this game and were looking to win all the matches they had in hand to bring the third-placed Puneri Paltan under pressure in their home leg.
However, bottom side Dabang Delhi upset the script with a 34-35 win over the home team, R Sriram coming up with the crucial raid in the last minute.
It was a tight match all throughout, with the Pink Panthers edging the half time lead 14-13. That was reversed in the second half by Delhi, who finally hit upon a consistent mix of attack and defence in this match.
It was a slow comeback for the visitors after the break, as Jaipur inflicted an All Out soon after the restart. Delhi would later go on to negate that with one of their own, with 8 extra points and 9 tackle points forming the base of Delhi's win in an extremely tight match.
