The 14th Youth, 55th Junior Men and 31st Junior Women Wrestling Championship is in process which is jointly organized by Nagpur District Weightlifting Association. In the event, at Nashikrao Tirpude College of Physical Education premises, the following results took place in the penultimate day:
(YOUTH): In Men's +109kg category, it was Haryana's Puneet who was alloted the first rank. He was given a tough fight by Kerala's Aromal Gigu. The third rank was given to Ashish Kumar Gorai.
(YOUTH): In Men's 96kg category, Abhimanyu Pandey acquired the first rank by a whisker. He led Maharastra's Tejas Lokhande by a point as the latter settled for the second place.
(YOUTH): Talking about men's 102kg category, Jasveer Singh stood out with a first rank accumulating 267 points. Haryana's Aman and Akash Rana took second and third place respectively with 246 and 244 points.
(JUNIOR): Shifting focus to the juniors in men's 96kg weightlifting, Harshit Sehrawat was adjudged first with maximum points earned in clean and jerk round. He was followed by Kalyan Singh and Kanha Tyagi.
(JUNIOR): In Men's 92kg tussle, Pradeep Kumar Yadav was ranked first, and closely followed by Andhra's Vishnu Vardhan and Haryana's Ravi (both ended at 276 points each).
(JUNIOR): Punjab's Gurpratap Singh held the top rank in 109kg. He led Haryana's Rajesh by a point.
In Women's 71kg, Ritika Rai of UP bagged first position followed by P. Dhatri and Anjana Sreejith of Andra Pradesh and Kerala respectively. In Men's 89kg, Arvind Singh led the charge whereas Ankush Kumar and R. Ramkumar followed suit to take silver and bronze respectively.
In Women's 59kg, Nirmala Devi stood out at the first spot. Trupti Mane and Shiela Devi came second and third respecitvely. In Men's 67kg, Arunachal's Markio Tario finished with first rank.
In 49kg women's category, E Quasar bagged first rank. In men's 49 kg, Bhaktaram Desti was ranked first.
(JUNIOR) In women's 45kg, Bornali Bora was adjudged first rank followed by Techi Nadam. In Men's 55kg, Shubham Kolekar was ranked first whereas Piyush Singh ended second.
The event will fold up on December 22 which has certainly brought more talented lifters into the fore.
