Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been impressing everyone with his impeccable bowling skills. He picked up crucial wickets in the ODI series against the West Indies to take his team to the victory and was instrumental in the T20 series win against the Caribbean side.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is also impressed with the youngster and said he is a fearless bowler who wants to take the new ball in his hands everytime he goes out there to play.
While talking about playing for Team India at such a young age, the Indian speedster Khaleel Ahmed said he is loving every moment of playing for the country and the passion is what makes his celebrations stand out.
“Those celebrations come because I am extremely excited as I am representing my country. This is a big moment for me and I won’t let this go,” Khaleel said.
The 20-year-old cricketer from Rajasthan credits his instant success to the experience he gathered while sharing the dressing with some of the biggest stars of the game during the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Playing in the IPL gives one a lot of experience when you come into the Indian team. You don’t have to make too many changes to your game because you already have shared the dressing room with international players. When you come into the Indian team, by then you had already learned professionalism and know how to correct your mistakes. The IPL is of big help,” Khaleel added.
He also thanked the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team Bharat Arun for helping him at the nets and said that Arun has been a driving force for him since the time he was included into the national side.
“I had more responsibility today as I was bowling with the new ball. I am working on my bowling arm as well as on my non-bowling arm with Bharat sir in the practice sessions.”
