France opened their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign on home soil with a comfortable 4-0 win over South Korea. Lyon striker Eugenie Le Sommer opened the scoring for Les Bleus in the 11th minute.
Wendie Renard scored two brilliant headers for Corinne Diacre’s side before midfielder Amandine Henry sealed the victory with a sensational long-range strike.
France, who are among the favourites to win the tournament, will face much stiffer competition against Norway in their next match on June 12.
