France scored 4 stunning goals against the Rio Olympic Gold medallists Argentina, who scored a lone goal in the first half.
Argentina were left stunned after a flurry of France attacks in the second quarter saw the scoreline become lopsided against the South American giants till half time.
Argentina tried to make a comeback through Gonzalo Peillat. He scored twice in quick succession, one in the end of the third quarter and the other right at the beginning of the fourth.
But France had other plans and cemented a win as well as their cross-over berth with their 5th goal of the game in the 54th minute.
France had a quite first quarter but the lowest ranked team (Number 20 in the world) in the world cup, France, converted almost all the chances to destroy Spanish dream to play the cross-overs.
In the other game of the Pool A, New Zealand made a late comeback in the match to secure a 2-2 Draw against Spain. The draw meant France had a chance to qualify for the cross-over stage if they topple the South American giants.
They did exactly that and pulled-off something which nobody would've expected.
