Record breaker James Anderson has gone on to praise England’s newest find and player of the Series Sam Curran. The 20 year olds contribution with both bat and ball turned out to be crucial for the host nation as they won the series by 4-1 against India.
“I think we’ve found a gem there. He’s a diamond of a player who can score runs in crucial situations and will take the ball in any situation too,” Anderson was quoted saying.
“He gives that left arm option as well and he’s extremely skillful with the ball and he loves the battle that Test cricket brings. We’ve made real strides in that respect in terms of the players that we’ve added to the squad that was already very talented,” the 36-year-old added.
Jimmy Anderson himself had a memorable series as he went on to break the great Glenn Mcgrath’s record of 563 wickets to become the leading wicket taker in the fast bowling department with 564 victims to his name.
