Ajay Thakur-led Indian kabaddi team defeated Iran 44-26 in the finals of 2018 Kabaddi Masters Dubai. It remained an easy win for India, as they completely dominated Iran through the beginning of the match.
Skipper Ajay Thakur scored nine raid points to help his team win the title. India were leading at the end of first-half, however, Iran later tried their best to get themselves back in the game but strong defence from India’s Surjeet did not let them score easily.
Presently, India are the reigning world champions and they have now won the Kabaddi Masters trophy as well.
“It’s a very difficult job to pick the team,” says head coach Srinivas Reddy. “Picking the 14 to make the national team is one thing, picking the starting seven is an even bigger problem.”
