After Australia winning the T20I series versus India, Sports Flashes got in touch with famous cricket expert Boria Majumdar to know about what he felt were India’s chances while heading into the five match ODI series, starting tomorrow.
Majumdar believes that there will be limited experimentation in the team by the men in blue in the fifty over format, and that they’ll also be starting as firm favorites, in spite of Australia having the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell in their locker.
Boria Majumdar :- Fifty over cricket is very different and team India will indefinitely be starting as the favorites, and this is a format which the Indian team is doing really well at, in the T20Is they continued to experiment, but here they’ll be looking to play their best XI heading into the world. Though Maxwell showed his brilliance with the bat, the ODI format will be a different ball game, and I’m confident that India will win the series, because they’re a quality unit”
“There will be Rohit, Shikhar, Virat, there will be Raydu, Kedar Jhadav and MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya might be missing but I still feel the Indian team with the likes of Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah and Shami will bother the Australians. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul might also get an opportunity, and yes they may have Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and a good bowling line up, but the Indian team will start as favorites if you ask me.”
