Former Sri Lankan spinner and a legend of the game – Muttaih Muralitharan has hailed the Indian cricket team for banking their trust on Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the fifty over format which has proved to be pivotal point for the men in blue in attaining important wins, at home and abroad.
In the ICC Champions Trophy, Virat Kohli usually stepped down on the field with finger spinners comprising of Ravi Ashwin and Jadeja, who were in fact quite expensive in that tournament, which even lead them to face defeat in the finals of the tournament against arch rivals Pakistan.
Murali feels that the ‘Kulcha’ Jodi has given team India the zest which separates them from the rest in the sides, and makes them the team to beat in the forthcoming World Cup.
“Indian selectors have confidence on the two wrist spinners which is a result of their impressive performance. India has two leg spinners while other countries have very few of them and hence they cannot copy India,” Muttiah Muralitharan was quoted as saying by the Asian Age,” Murali said.
“The conditions as well as the pitches in England usually assist swing bowling in the months of June and July and it will depend on the same factors how Kuldeep and Chahal fare at the World Cup,” said the 800 wicket taker in Test match cricket.
