Britain’s Johanna Konta defeated Netherland’s Kiki Bertens, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2, in a closely-fought semi-final in the ongoing Italian Open.
The clash, which lasted almost three hours, witnessed a great comeback from Konta as she outplayed sixth-seeded and recently concluded Madrid Open winner, Bertens.
Konta, who is currently World No. 42, will be up against the winner of the second semi-final which will be contested between Greece’s Maria Sakkari and Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova.
