The World Cup squad for Sri Lanka has been announced and the biggest exclusion from the team is former skipper Dinesh Chandimal.
Chandimal, who was leading the Sri Lankan team until October last year, was omitted from the squad due to poor form. The side will enter the event with Dimuth Karunaratne as skipper, while Angelo Mathews will be his deputy.
Meanwhile, other surprising exclusions include Akila Dananjaya and wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella, who were performing well for the team in the recent past.
Stand by – Oshada Fernando, Angelo Perera, Kasun Rajitha, and Wasindu Hasaranga.
