Indian badminton giant Srikanth Kidambi beat Pablo Abian of Spain to enter the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals at the BWF World Championship in Nanjing on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old shuttler won the first set of the match but the Spaniard came back strongly in the second set to take the match to the final set. However, it was Kidambi who emerged victorious at the end 21-15 12-21 21-14 in the 62-minute encounter.
Srikanth, who had claimed four titles last year, will next take on Malaysia's Daren Liew, a former World no 10, who had won the 2012 French Open Super Series.
