With just 100 days to go, the logo for this year's International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays in Yokohama has been released.
The organizers have chosen a primarily blue design which symbolizes the host city Yokohama and its surrounding ocean and seaport, a gateway for visitors from all over the world. The red represents the rising Sun and as such, it can be assumed that Japan's rising sun has also been included with the event set for the International Stadium in Yokohama on May 11 and 12.
The organizing committee also launched Social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as the countdown begins.
Yokohama was chosen as a replacement host for Nassau in The Bahamas in October. After the Bahamas Government confirmed that it would no longer be able to offer the financial guarantee that underpinned the event in Nassau. Following which, Japan was considered to be the preferred location.
The first three editions of the IAAF World Relays, in 2014, 2015 and 2017, were held in the Bahamian capital.
