Hope of some play on Day 1 of the Lord's Test is still alive as the rain has finally stopped. At present the groundsmen ar working on the field to get the ground ready in the time. If lights permit, the play can be extended till 7 PM local time. And with no more prediction of rain, the fans can expect a few hour's play in this mucha-waited second Test.
In any case, the match has to start by 5 PM, which means the grounsmen have around 40 minutes more to get the ground ready.
However, the toss is yet to take place and with the wetness around, it is highly unlikely that teams will be tempted to play two spinners.
With 0-1 down in the five match series, India will take field at the Lord's from Thursday in order to make a comeback in the series. Last time they played here back in 2014, Ajinkya Rahana and Ishant Sharma's heroics fetched the visitors a memorable victory. In this second Test, the visitors would like to emulate a similar kind of performance.
