French side Lyon defeated Barcelona 4-1 in Budapest, to reaffirm their dominance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Budapest born Dzsenifer Marozsan gave Lyon the lead with an early goal.
Reigning Women’s Ballon d’Or winner, Norway’s Ada Hegerberg, then took centre stage. Hegerberg, who will not play for her country in the upcoming Women’s World Cup, blew Barcelona away by scoring a stupendous 16-minute hat-trick.
This was Lyon’s fourth consecutive Women’s Champions League title, and a record sixth overall.
