Paul Pogba is confident Manchester United can turn around their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.
United lost the first leg of their quarter-final to Barcelona on Wednesday night.Pogba, though, believes his team-mates can still go through by winning at Camp Nou next week.
Pogba’s brace from the spot sealed a 2-1 victory against West Ham in Premier League at Old Trafford and the World Cup winner is now looking to cause a shock in Catalonia.
“I think it’s a really important three points,” the midfielder said.
“We know about that. We wanted to do obviously better and score more goals, but we get the result that maybe we deserve.
“Now what we have to think about the next one, the next game, get some rest and get focused on Barcelona.
“That’s why we play football, to play against those teams, to play those games. A Champions League quarter-final is just beautiful. We just have to enjoy it, give our best and trust ourselves,” Pogba added.
A 12th-minute own goal from Luke Shaw saw Barca secure a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in the first leg and take a precious away goal back to Camp Nou.
But PSG netted two away goals in the last 16 before United pulled off a dramatic turnaround at the Parc des Princes, and Pogba is backing his team to do the same again.
“I know it’s Barcelona, we’re playing in their home, but it’s never closed. It’s still 90 minutes. The first half is gone, now it’s the second half,” Pogba said.
The French star Pogba has found the back of the net on 16 occasions in 41 appearances for United this season, in addition to providing 11 assists.
