Indian table tennis champion Manika Batra and ace weightlifter Mirabai Chanu have been roped in by sports management company IOS Sports & Entertainment in a multi-year deal.
The association will see the company handling their endorsements, appearances, brand profiling, patents, licensing and digital rights, images, and visibility on social networking sites, the company stated in a media release.
Manika and Chanu are not the first players to join hands with the company as Indian boxers MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singhare already in association with IOS.
Last month, Manika, 22, became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in table tennis at recently concluded 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
On the other hand, the 23-year-old Chanu became the first Indian in two decades to clinch a gold medal at the 2017 World Weightlifting Championship in Anaheim. She also won the gold in her weight category at Gold Coast.
“I have been performing well in the international circuit but at the same time I was looking for a professional sports management group that could manage my overall brand portfolio and logistics plus commercial activities in the best professional way,” Chanu said.
“I am really convinced in the manner in which IOS has been working in the market with some of the top talents of our country. I am looking forward to a great partnership with IOS,” she added.
