India’s ace Table Tennis player Manika Batra ascended further in the ITTF World rankings as she made it to 46th position.
The Delhi based paddler improved on her last month’s ranking with a cumulative total of 6817 points. She had then reached 47th spot in the rankings.
The tall paddler has had an emphatic run since the onset of 2018, when she won multiple medals at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games as well as the Jakarta Palembang Asian Games.
Manika went on to clinch the Women’s Singles title at the Commonwealth Games apart from three other medals at the same Games. She also won a Mixed Doubles Bronze medal at the Asian Games.
Manika also created history when she became the first Indian to win the Breakthrough Star of the Year Award at the ITTF Annual gala night in December 2018.
Sathiyan Gnanasekaran as well as veteran paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal Men’s singles hung on to their respective rankings vis a vis last month at 28th & 33rd respectively.
Gnanasekaran last month went on to achieve the tag of being the highest ranked Indian.
