The second match on Christmas saw hosts Bengal Warriors das any hopes of Telugu Titans, making it to the play offs with a 39-34 scoreline at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
Telugu Titans’ final league fixture was a crucial one for them and they needed a big win to give them a mathematical chance of qualifying for the play offs. Bengal Warriors, on the other hand, were just looking to keep their momentum going into the Playoffs after already having qualified from Zone B.
The match gave Bengal Warriors’ Maninder Singh yet another chance to show his prowess in the league and in front of his home crowd. He scored 12 raid points, the highest of the match from 15 attempts.
The fast and the furious - Superman-inder is here! ????
Congratulations on being the fastest to the 5⃣0⃣0⃣-raid points race, Maninder! ????
The Bengal Warriors were off to a flying start as they raced to 6-0 in the first 2 minutes of the match. Rahul Chaudhari’s absence was very much evident in the Titan’s performance as they were completely outplayed in the raiding department with just Armaan being there saving grace after garnering 11 points from the match.
The first half of the match ended at 23-15 for the Warriors. The Titans did pull up their socks and it was their defenders Farhad Milaghardan and Abozar Meghani who brought them back with their super tackles. But in the end it was too little too late for the Titans who bowed out of the match and from the race for the play offs.
The match also brought up Bengal Warriors raider Maninder Singh’s 500th point in Pro Kabaddi. He’s also the fastest to reach the milestone.
