England is clearly the favourites for tonight’s game versus Afghanistan. Hazratullah Zazai has lost his touch after Mohammad Shahzad departed in the middle of the tournament.
Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi aren’t contributing either with the bat which makes the top order look fragile.
Mohammad Nabi, who’s one of the veterans of Afghanistan cricket hasn’t been able to perform with both bat and ball on a consistent basis which is another concern for the Afghans.
Rashid Khan, on the other end, who is considered as one of the best wrist spinners in modern day cricket hasn’t picked up enough wickets.
The reason for that is because Afghanistan hasn’t posted enough runs on the board for Rashid Khan's sake.
England on the contrary, in spite of missing out on the services of Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan due to injuries in the upcoming games still somehow manages to look like a quality unit.
Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, James Vince ensures solidarity in the batting line-up for the host nation. The fiery fast bowlers - Jofra Archer, and Mark Wood will prove to be a handful against Afghanistan.
England will be eying an emphatic win this evening to send a message to the rest of the sides that they are invariably the hot favourites to win the World Cup.
