England is the favourites but don’t rule out West Indies. Oshane Thomas, Sheldon Cotterell and Kemar Roach are very good bowlers. Jason Holder is a brilliant captain. Chris Gayle and Shai Hope can take away matches from any opponents.
On the other hand, England with Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan has a terrific batting lineup. Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and then Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes. Superb team, according to me, one of the best in the world if not the best at the moment.
Jos Buttler is the trump card of the team. This team can beat anyone on any day. This is a match that you would want to see. It should not be raining in Southampton. I want to see this match.
It feels good to see the old West Indies back. If Oshane Thomas hits someone on the helmet, it feels good. That is the raw passion that West Indies brings to the fore.
I keep saying this, West Indies should make the semi-finals just because they are good for world cricket. So, my four are England, India, Australia and West Indies. If that happens, I will be delighted. But for today’s match, my mind says England will win, but my heart beats for West Indies.
