The way New Zealand got five early wickets for 92 we all thought that the kiwis might just edge a win against Australia.
But the way Usman Khawaja responded to his critics through a vital knock of 88, along with Alex Carey’s contribution of 71 propelled Australia to a decent total of 243.
If we talk about Australia’s bowling, it looks like their back on track with the inclusion of Jason Behrandorff, while Mitchell Starc looks back to his brilliant best. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon add further pressure in that lineup.
There is now a possibility of Australia topping the table, and let’s not forget that Aaron Finch, David Warner, and Steve Smith were all out cheaply, but in spite of that, the Aussies ensured their might on the field.
Whoever now gets to face Australia in the knockout game that side will now be a tad cautious given the way that they’re peaking in the tournament.
