England brought their ‘A game’ against India. Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy were lucky at the beginning with a few edges going in their favour, but the way they transformed their innings in the latter stages was impeccable.
Clean hitting by both the English openers as they smashed an opening stand of 160 runs in just 22 overs.
However, the next 18 overs India conceded just 70 odd runs while taking a few wickets which got them back into the game.
At one stage it seemed like England were cruising to 370 plus, but restricted them to 337 in the end with some good bowling by Bumrah.
Though, I feel Shami towards the end could have bowled at a much better line.
During the run chase, Sachin Tendulkar stated that Virat Kohli batted extremely well but also mentioned that a century is around the corner, so it’s nothing to be worried about.
Rohit Sharma was brilliant as always as he scored his third century in the World Cup this year.
Rishabh Pant looked confident with the bat along with Hardik Pandya who looked in touch as well.
So, the Indian fans shouldn’t panic much since India did put in some sort of a fight and scored over 300 in the run chase.
Team India has two more games before the knockout in which they just need to win one to officially qualify for the semis.
