Argentine international Lionel Messi was awarded the 'Creu de Sant Jordi' by the Government of Catalonia on Thursday.
The award, which was created in 1981, is the second highest civil distinctions. Messi is now among 28 people and 15 entities that have been awarded the 'St. George's cross'.
