For the second consecutive year, Colgate continues the collaboration of one of the best swimmers of all time, Michael Phelps, as the global ambassador of the conservation campaign of the water of the brand.
Today, 130 million Americans live with a serious water shortage1 for at least one month a year; however, 42% of the North American population says that they leave the tap open while brushing their teeth2.
With this initiative, Phelps and Colgate urge people to help save the planet this Earth Day simply by turning off the water.
"Although I retired from swimming two years ago, water is still an important part of my life and is a priority of all of us," said Phelps. "This Earth Day, I want to make an invitation for all of us to participate in preserving the water, because every drop counts, join us by closing the water while you brush your teeth, it's a small contribution that we can all make together achieve a huge change and create a great impact in the world.
