The 17 man squad for Pakistan in the upcoming series against Australia series has been announced by the chief selctor of Paksitan, and former captain – Inzamam Ul Haq. The surprise in the list has been the exclusion of the 26 year old pacer Mohammad Amir.
Mohammad Amir made a comeback in January 2016 after the infamous spot fixing scandal, and had quite a few good performances for Pakistan, including the match winning spell against India in the final of the champions trophy last year. But Amir’s performances had subdued ever since, and his struggle was seen throughout the Asia Cup campaign as the left arm pacer went wicket less in the tournament.
“The team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions of the UAE. Amir has been dropped on lack of form and Wahab Riaz and Mir Hamza comes in the side.
“We have three spinners Yasir, Shadab and Asif who are in the squad keeping in view the UAE wickets,” said Inzamam.
The first Test starts in Dubai from October 7 while the second is in Abu Dhabi from October 16.
Both teams will also play three Twenty20 internationals, the squads for which will be announced later.
