The second day of the Greater Noida leg of the Premier Wrestling League season 4 saw home crowd favorites UP Dangal decimate MP Yodha 5-2 in a thrilling clash at the Gautam Buddha University Stadium in Greater Noida.
The evening started with a high scoring bout where MP Yodha’s Haji Aliyev completely dominated and thrashed his UP Dangal counterpart 18-2 in the 65 kg Men’s category.
The second bout of the evening saw Epp Mae of UP Dangal pull one back for her team in just 30 seconds of the bout when she won the Women’s 76 kg bout by pin fall (4-0) against Andrea Olaya of MP Yodha.
The third bout of the evening saw 57 kg category MP Yodha’s wrestler Sandeep Tomar fend off UP Dangal’s Rahul in a low scoring but a tough bout with a 5-1 scoreline.
The next bout saw famous Phogat sister’s Ritu take to the mat for MP Yodha against UP Dangal’s Vanesa Kaladzinskaya. Ritu tried a lot during both the rounds but failed to conquer and lost tamely, 3-8, to Vanesa in the 53 kg Women’s category.
UP Dangal’s Georgi then completely dominated the fifth bout of the evening and thrashed MP Yodha’s Akash Antil 16-1 in the Men’s 125 kg category. The fixture’s score then went to 4-2 in UP’s favor.
Pooja Dhanda then took to the mat and wanted to draw parity for her team but she went unlucky and lost her bout against Sarita Mor 6-5 in a bout which lived up to its billing. The score of the tie then locked the win in UP Dangal’s favor at 4-2.
The last bout of the evening saw UP Yodha’s Jitender battle against Vasil of MP Yodha in the 74 kg category. The Indian took advantage of the home crowd and completed UP Dangal's domination with a scoreline of 7-2.
