Australian off spinner – Nathan Lyon has been backed by former players and legends of the game to go beyond the 400 wickets mark in Test match cricket.
Lyon moved to fifth in terms of most number of wickets taken by an Aussie after taking the wicket of Haris Sohail on Day 4, and is on par with Brett Lee’s 310 wickets.
Lee and Mark Waugh both suggested that Nathan Lyon will go past 400 wickets with ease and will register himself into the sport’s elite list.
He’ll hopefully go to 400 plus Test wickets and become a legend,” Lee said of the 30-year-old on Fox Cricket during the innings break.
“(He’s) one of the best off-spinners of all time and his record is going to say that,” added Mark Waugh.
“He could easily play another three or four years. He could easily get 400 wickets,” Waugh added.
