Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, claimed to have not set a target players who will be bought on the transfer market next season.
Guardiola realized his team is far from perfect now. Even so, the former Barcelona coach wants to be flexible to face the summer market.
"There are many players in the transfer market who are in accordance with the position we need. However, even without the arrival of new players, our squad is still good," Guardiola said to BBC.
"I am very satisfied with Manchester City's performance, but everything can happen next summer," Guardiola said.
Furthermore, Guardiola gave a little leak to the strategy in the transfer market. Guardiola wants the players who come not to damage the harmonization of the salary-related team.
"We are trying to keep the dressing room in harmony through balanced player salaries," Guardiola said. "If there is no balance in the player's salary, the dressing room will always encounter problems," the Spanish coach added.
The anchor midfielder is likely to be Guardiola's priority next season. As is known, Fernandinho who became the mainstay of Guardiola in that position had been consumed by age.
Previously, Guardiola was reportedly attracted by young Dutch talent, Frenkie De Jong. However, his requests for salaries were too high make Man City withdraw from De Jong's hunt.
De Jong moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Barcelona and will only join early next season. After penning his deal in a move worth around £70m, De Jong revealed he held a telephone conversation with Guardiola himself to discuss a Premier League switch.
"I spoke with Paris Saint-Germain and I also spoke with Guardiola about signing for Manchester City, they all want to convince you when they love you, I am happy and proud that they loved me, but I decided to sign for Barcelona," De Jong said.
"I saw Barcelona as a child and then, when I was a little more aware of the game, I followed the Guardiola era with all his successes, that still made me a biggest fan."
