The Asia Cup is just a few hours away and everyone is really thrilled about the epic encounter between India and their arch-rivals Pakistan. The tournament has largely become about these two teams but Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has made it clear that India’s focus is on the whole tournament and not only one game.
But, Rohit Sharma admitted that the clash will be an important one and the whole team is very excited for the match against the men in green.
“Yes, it will be exciting to play Pakistan here after a long gap but by no way, I am saying it is the only game,” he said.
“It is always exciting to play Pakistan. They have been a great nation, they have played some really great cricket of late. But there are other teams as well here that are eyeing the title. By no means am I saying the focus should be on one game. The focus should be on the tournament as all teams are eyeing the title.”
The 14th edition of the sporting event is scheduled to be played in UAE from September 15 to September 28. India will begin their campaign against Hong Kong on September 18 before the epic clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 19.
Meanwhile, the men in green will face Hong Kong in their opening match at Asia Cup 2018.
