Riding on Pawan Sehrawat's scintillating show, Bengaluru Bulls posted a comprehensive victory over hosts Tamil Thalaivas in ongoing Pro Kabaddi League 2018-19. This is now Tamil Thalaivas' third consecutive defeat. It was a one-sided Pro Kabaddi tie at a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with the scoreline being 48-37 in favour of the Bulls.
Sehrawat's whopping 20 points never allowed Thalaivas off the hook. He was well complimented by Kashilang Adake (nine points) in attack and Ashish Sangwan (seven points) in defence.
For Tamil Thalaivas, skipper Ajay Thakur (20 points) waged a lone battle and continued his roaring form in the recent past. To his dismay, he found no support at the other end.
Bengaluru Bulls had set the tone in the initial stages itself by sending Thakur out of the mat in his first attempt. In addition, Sehrawat took the mat by storm and garnered 17 points in the first essay. In defence, Sangwan was brilliant, scoring six tackle points to ensure their rivals were outplayed on all fronts. Sehrawat scored five and three raid points in the 26th and fourth minute respectively.
At halfway stage, Thalaivas looked clueless and were trailing by 16 points. Further more, one of their mainstays -- Manjeet Chillar -- picked up a green card to sum up a forgettable half for Thalaivas.
Thakur held his own and continued the attack from one end. Nonetheless, he lacked support. Thalaivas were down and out in the latter half of the match and evoked an all-out attack but it was too little to change the outcome of the match by then. The gulf between two teams didn't reduce much and Bulls emerged on top eventually.
