Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2018 is on the verge of its closure. The Playoffs have commenced wherein UP Yoddha and U Mumba met in Eliminator 1. In Eliminator 2, Dabang Delhi K.C. clashed with Bengal Warriors. Talking about the latter match, Delhi prevailed to send Bengal packing with a final scoreline: 39-28. With this result, Delhi and Bengal's overall head-to-head stands at 6-5 respectively (with 1 tie).
It was a faceoff between two strong raiding units. However, momentum was with Delhi due to their superior head-to-head record over in-form Bengal this season (2-0). Winning the toss, Delhi chose the court of their choice.
It was 0-0 with both sides' defence doing all the talking. Nonetheless, it became intense at 12-12. Few unforced errors saw Delhi trail 12-18 at the halfway stage. Till then, Bengal's Maninder Singh and Jang Kun Lee scored vital raid points, were ably supported by their experienced defence and Delhi's Meraj Shekyh's erratic attack.
However, the script slowly changed towards Delhi in the final half. It began with Chandran Ranjit and Naveen Kumar's raid points. At 20-20, it was anybody's game. Bengal's Amit Nagar's unsuccessful raid was followed by Chandran's raid point as Delhi turned the screws.
Once Delhi got the lead, Bengal panicked. Maninder blew hot and cold and wasn't supported much from other raiders (as has been the case). There were plenty of empty raids (towards the end) before Delhi's all-rounder Vishal's raid point led to the final scoreline and Bengal's exit.
Delhi will now face Eliminator 1's winner, UP Yoddha, in Eliminator 3 and hope for another successful outing.
