In the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2018, Jaipur Pink Panthers faced Puneri Paltan in Match 111 at Tau Devilal Sports Complex, Panchkula. In a must-win clash for hosts Jaipur -- who have to win all their remaining encounters to enter the Playoffs -- locked horns with Paltan for the third time this season (after a loss and a draw). The contest was dictated by hosts wherein they prevailed ahead courtesy a 36-23 scoreline.
Paltan elected the court of their choice after winning the toss. Jaipur's Deepak Hooda got his side to the desired start with a successful raid point. The momentum swung from one side to another before Deepak's successful raid was followed by Paltan's Sandeep's unsuccessful raid and it brought the hosts ahead. At halftime, Jaipur leads comfortably at 21-9. Paltan's raiders missed a majority of their chances and pushed their side on the backfoot.
It looked like an improbable task for Paltan to stage a comeback. Jaipur was well and truly on top to win their first home game of the season. They stretched the lead in the final half of the contest and were sitting pretty at 26-15. There was no change in a script as Paltan's rusty ride continued.
Paltan's GB More's 5 raid points and skipper, Girish Maruti Ernak, played a lone warrior's role in defense with 3 tackle points. A shabby defense cost them the match eventually. Jaipur stormed past their opposition with a healthy 36-23 lead to keep their Playoffs' hopes alive.
From Jaipur, Deepak's 8 raid points along with Sunil Siddhgavali's 8 tackle points assisted in their side's easy win.
