Kieron Pollard smashed third fastest fifty in the history of Bangladesh Premier League as Dhaka Dynamites bounced back from 41/5 to chase the 157-run target to beat Khulna Titans by 4 wickets in the 13rd match of the Bangladesh Premier League.
After being invited to bat first, Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 24 whole Rilee Rossouw scored 34 before Carlos Brathwaite blasted 64 runs from just 29 balls, including 6 sixes and 4 fours, to take Khulna Titans to 156-5 in their 20-over quota. Abu Hider Rony picked up 2 wickets while Shakib Al Hasan, Shahid Afridi and Sunil Narine picked up 1 wicket each.
In reply, Dhaka didn’t had a good start as they were reduced 24/4 and 41/5 before Kieron Poillard and Jahurul Islam took them past the finish line. Pollard smashed 55 from 24 balls, including 4 sixes in 5 balls to Mahmuddullah, to help Dhaka bounce back. He reached his half-century in just 19 balls. However he left his partner after 73-run stand to do all the work on his own and Islam did it in style. He smashed 45 runs from 39 balls and held his nerves to finish off things in style, a reverse scoop that went racing to the fence.
The win took Dhaka on the top of the table with 3 wins from 4 matches.
