Ace Indian woman shuttler PV Sindhu defeated USA’s Soniia Cheah in the quarter-finals to enter the semi-finals with a straight-game win at the USD 350,000 Thailand Open World Super 500 tournament in Bangkok on Friday.
The second-seeded Sindhu completely dominated the American and won the match in straight games 21-17, 21-13 which took her just 26 minutes, as Cheah had no answers to her impeccable performance.
The 23-year-old Sindhu will next take on Gregorian Mariska of Indonesia on Saturday.
Meanwhile, India’s campaign in Bangkok was culled of members with Satwik Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponnappa, HS Prannoy, Parupalli Kashyap, Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy all bowing out on Thursday.
