Former India captain – Mohammed Azharuddin has said that Ravindra Jadeja should have never been left out of the Indian team in the limited format. Jadeja contributed in a crucial 45-run partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the 7th wicket, when India were in pressure after losing the wicket of Dhoni followed by Kedar Jhadav limping out of the field due to a hamstring injury.
"Ravindra Jadeja should not have been dropped. He has done well in batting, bowling and in the field in this Asia Cup," Mohammad Azharuddin concurred.
"If Jadeja was out early, then it would have been impossible for India. He is an integral part for India in the playing XI," he further concurred.
Ravindra Jadeja had an impressive Asia Cup campaign, after being called by the selctors to replace an injured Hardik Pandya. In his comeback game against Bangladesh in the Super 4 stage, Jadeja scalped 4 wickets for just 29 runs and was also involved in breathtaking run out last evening to get the in form batsman – Mohammed Mithun out early.
Bangladesh could only manage to post a small total of 222. But the Bangla tigers made the Indian’s work hard for their runs, as they merely got out of jail by hitting the win runs in the final ball of the game.
