After Team India’s forgettable tour in England, Head coach of India – Ravi Sahstri has been facing the music ever since his claim of the current Indian team being “the best travelling squad in the past 15 years.” Several fans and experts have been calling for Shastri’s head since England’s thumping of India 4-1. One such former cricketer who agrees to the criticism of Ravi Shastri is Chetan Chuahan.
“Ravi Shastri should be removed as head coach before the Australia tour,” Chauhan expressed“Ravi Shastri is very good cricket commentator and he should be allowed to do so.”
"Team India should have performed better. Both the teams were evenly matched. But the Indian team failed to check tail enders of England," Chauhan said.
On being asked about the current state of affairs of the ‘Virat Brigade’ being known as excellent travelers, here’s what the 71 year old had to say.
“I do not agree. In 1980s, the Indian team was the best travelling team in the world,” he further added.
Earlier Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag showed their discontent with the most expensive coach’s approach in England, while Chetan Chauhan was latest to join the latest anti – Shastri bandwagon. Ravi Shastri is currently in United Arab Emirates with the men in blue as they take the field in their first game against Hong Kong on the 18th of September.
