You might know him as the reigning Asian Gold medalist, the reigning World Championship silver medalist or perhaps India’s best bet for a Gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. But the fact is even after basj=king in the glory of such accolades, he doesn’t shy away from showing his roots.
Yes, the man in question here is none other than Bajrang Punia.
Bajrang was recently spotted spending quality time and training in the traditional mud akhada at his mentor Yogeshwar Dutt’s academy at Bali Brahmana village in Gohana, Haryana which is supported by JSW Sports.
Completely drenched in the mud at the akhada of his mentor was sight to be cherished. The 25-year old wrestler who recently won the Gold medal at the Don Kolov Invitational tournament in the 65 Kg freestyle category at Ruse, Bulgaria is looking forward to maintain his winning run at the upcoming Asian Championships later in this month.
The Gohana located Academy is house to about 200 young wrestlers who hone their skills under the guidance of various coaches including Olympic Bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt.
